Julius Ensign Rockwell papers 1762-1882

Julius Ensign Rockwell (1860-1926) was a bibliographer and stenographer for the U.S. Dept. of the Interior and Bureau of Education. He collected textbooks, Bibles and prayer books written in various shorthand systems. Collection consists of letters to Rockwell, writings and printed matter by other shorthand writers, and shorthand manuscripts. Letters, 1762-1882, written in longhand, are from shorthand writers and teachers of shorthand. Also, shorthand manuscripts including Bibles, psalms, prayer book, and notes on sermons.
